Chinese New Year at The Ritz Club

When you're told by the Restaurant Manager at The Ritz Club that it was the best party they have ever had it is high praise indeed. The Ritz had invited some VIP guests to celebrate Chinese New Year and Chinese Elvis who is an amazing performer was there to entertain the diners and entertain he certainly did - they absolutely loved him. Chinese Elvis has a fantastic voice and has appeared in many West End stage productions and has a great presence and a ready wit and he knows how to rock an audience. We also had a traditional Chinese musician who played a Pipa which is sometimes called a Chinese lute and she was delightful and set the scene for the beginning of the evening and we also had a Chinese dragon which was great fun. All in all a great way to start The Chinese New Year.

Christmas choirs and carol singers

As the Christmas period is firmly upon us we have been providing a number of choirs to sing carols and Christmas songs at a variety of events from the company get-together to private parties. Our lovely singers have been extremely popular and for some events they have been dressed in Victorian costume to add even more of a festive feeling.

Summer Barbecue in Central London

We provided entertainment for a wonderful summer barbecue in Central London at our cliet's office on their massive roof terrace. The evening had a 60's theme and as well as the incoreigible Cosmic Sausages who serenaded the guests throughout the evening to much mirth, we also had green screen photographers. This is a great way to have fun with the guests as they were all using our props and dressing up clothes and you can fit more people in rather than just 2 or 3 in a photobooth. The prints can be branded with a logo or in this case we added in backgrounds so that the prints can be made into a calendar at a later date. It was perfect entertainment for corporate parties, birthdays, weddings or whatever you want to celebrate

Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers Gala Banquet at the Guildhall

The livery held their Gala Banquet at the Guildhall on 1st June led by their Master Vice Admiral Tim Laurence who was accompanied by HRH Princess Royal, who is also Master Butcher this year. The evening commenced with the Band of the Royal Marines who performed in the Guildhall Yard before the guests moved inside for a sumptuous dinner. More entertainment followed including the City of London Sinfonia and the soprano Emily Garland. Towards the end of dinner our singing waiters performed breathtaking arias from Verdi and Puccini and finally Strictly Come Dancing stars Anton du Beke and Erin Boag took to the floor to close the evening on an absolute high.

When it comes to the company Christmas party we have a wealth of options whether it is a lively covers band or a professional DJ we know how to give the guests a night to remember. This Christmas season was no exception and we had bands like Alpha Connection at Merchant Taylors' Hall, Abba Tributes at the Renaissance Chancery Court, DJ's at Blenheim Palace and the Grange Hotel St Pauls as well as lots of mix and mingle acts such as magicians, caricaturists and mindreaders at many venues throughout London and these were just a few of the many events that we covered

Spencer House Events

Our entertainers regularly appear at Spencer House in London a truly stunning 18th Century Palace that has been totally renovated to its former glory and is situated in the centre of London overlooking Green Park. It's a great venue for receptions especially on a warm summer's evening when guests can stroll out onto the terrace overlooking the gardens. We usually provide classical string quartets and harpists mixed in with mellow jazz bands that are perfect at creating atmosphere for our client's events

We were delighted to be asked to provide entertainment for the President's Reception for the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the Earth Galleries at The Natural History Museum. The President wanted a 'science' themed event based around quantum physics and in particular the Schrodinger's Cat experiment where the theory goes that an animate object can be alive and dead at the same time. Schrodinger's hypothetic 'experiment' stated that you put a cat in a box with some radio active material and a bottle of cyanide and if one atom from the radio active material were to leak it would break the bottle of cyanide and the cat would be killed.
This was a testing request from a client to re-enact the theoretical experiment in front of the guests but this we did with the use of an actor playing schrodinger a funny, yet imformative script and the help of a few props including a 'Bagpuss' for the cat. We also provided stilt walking aliens, Arbie a very helpful robotic waiter, a jazz band and three wonderful caracaturists

Saturday 30th October Halloween!

It was time again for Law Firm Sidley Austin's amazing Halloween party and this year it was bigger and better than ever. Every year their staff are invited to bring their children along for a family party and the chosen theme was based around Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. We had face painters, a children's entertainer and lots of fantastic games including giant scalextrics a ball pond, dance stage, Giant Wii, pinball machine and much more for the kids to enjoy.

Veolia at The Natural History Museum

You could say it was a 'Bugs Life' at The Natural History Museum on September 8th when Veolia Environmental Services held a gala dinner and the guests were entertained by living statues body painted as insects. We had a ladybird, bee, dragonfly and butterfly and they were all placed on podiums for the guests to admire

40th birthday bash

What a fantastic surprise birthday party last weekend! Nearly 100 guests were invited to a black tie event at the Old Thatched Inn near Aylesbury for a night of stylish entertainment based on a 1950's / Hollywood Glamour theme. The venue was draped in black velvet with contrasting blood red roses and ostrich feathers as well as crystal chandeliers. While the champagne flowed guests were entertained by the indomitable Rietta Austin who wowed the guests with her outstanding vocals and stage presentation. We had showgirls and Burlesque Queen, Gwendoline Lamour permformed her Jeeves and Wooster act and Powder Puff Act and finally presented the birthday boy with a stunning cake. Added to this the guests then danced on into the night to the Number 7 Band led by Bob Halford interspersed by the lovely Salvatore as DJ.

The Summer months are always busy times for us and this year has been no exception. We have provided entertainment for a variety of events including weddings, private parties, summer drinks receptions as well as charity balls.

We have had casinos at Merchant Taylors' Hall, Steel bands in St John's Wood, Latin bands in Putney, Children's entertainment in Hertfordshire and Bucks, and even a guitarist in the Lake District. There was a memorable Ruby Wedding Anniversary at Hampton Court Palace for the owners of the famous La Familglia Restaurant in London when even the guests joined forces to sing with the band. Family parties featuring the outstanding 'Star' and the renowned 'Alpha Connection' who played for a themed 'on the beach' party were huge hits. We have provided bands and DJs for weddings in marquees as well as a stunning wedding at Stowe School.

This was a once in a life time opportunity. Neurocare hosted the first ever Marquee Ball on the hallowed Sheffield Wednesday pitch at Hillsborough, on Saturday, May 8th 2010.

158 guests made their way down the prestigious player’s tunnel onto the pitch. To be greeted by our amazing live statues. The inaugural Neurocare SWFC Marquee Ball was the first of its kind at Hillsborough and 'The Pure Ball' exuded glamour, grace and classic charm.

Fay was therefore the first choice when ArcelorMittal were hosting a reception at The British Museum in their Egyptian Room on the 14th December. The guests were all astounded and delighted with her amazing sleight of hand and she really made the evening a night to remember

Thursday 26th November saw the Annual Dinner for the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeths take place in the Ballroom at Claridge's. This year they shied away from tradition and decided to have dancing following dinner and this turned out to be a resounding success. Abba Girls and their band did wonderful job of keeping the dance floor full and played all the well known Abba hits. If this wasn't enough there was also Jamie Pugh the semi-finalist in the 2009 Britain's Got Talent competition who wowed the guests with his rendition of 'Bring him Home' from Les Miserables

Halloween Fun with 'A Night at the Museum'

On 31st October we had a fantastic afternoon with a themed party based on the film 'A night at the Museum' for a big international law firm in the City of London. There were 100's of children of all ages who were kept amused by entertainers in themed costumes, face painters as well as lots of giant games such as an 8 lane giant scalextrics, dance machines, interactive Wii Games on huge screens and laser games too. Everyone from adults to children had a 'wicked' time!

What a Busy Week for The Executives

The past 7 - 10 days has been a busy time. We have had The Executives band performing on two consectutive Saturdays for private parties. On the 3rd October they were at the Noke Hotel in St Albans and they played for a 50th birthday party. We also provided a fabulous lighting rig to give the room a nightclub feel and our lovely quartet The String of Pearls played through dinner. On the 10th October they were in Amersham for a Ruby Wedding Anniversary and the client said it was a 'magical evening'.

During the week we had our pianist, Ray Blazdell at Hollisters dinner at Blenheim Palace and The Angelique String Quartet played for Sir Nigel and Lady Rudd's wedding anniversary at Spencer House

Sir Stirling Moss 80th Birthday Party

Sir Stirling Moss celebrated his 80th birthday in style on Monday 21st September with a fabulous party at Spencer House in London. Surrounded by family and friends he was given a wonderful surprise when international pianist and raconteur, Marty Henne, flew in from America just to entertain Sir Stirling and his guests. Marty was backed backed by Hamish Birchall on drums and a double bass player and it proved a magical night for everyone involved.

At long last the sun came out just in time for a great party down the road in Caddington. The party music was provided by local band Alibi who played some great tunes to keep the guests in the mood.
